Red Deer RCMP round up more suspected criminals
Mounties have arrested close to a dozen people suspected of several property-related crimes in Red Deer over the past week and a half.
On November 7, around 11:30 p.m., RCMP responded to a suspicious vehicle complaint in Riverside Meadows after a truck reportedly drove onto a residential lawn and came to a stop. A man in the driver’s seat was found to be violating a number of court-imposed conditions. Police say the truck was reported stolen out of Blackfalds November 6. Thomas Jeffrey Houle, 20, faces nine counts and is due in Red Deer court again December 7.

On November 8, shortly after 1;30 p.m., RCMP spotted a vehicle parked in downtown Red Deer that had a man in the driver’s seat with a flare gun. Officers were aware the man was on court-imposed conditions to not be in possession of anything that could be used as a weapon. The suspect allegedly refused to get out of the vehicle but police eventually managed to remove him from it without injury to himself or others. Mounties say a flare gun and bear spray were seized during the arrest. Jessie Singh Dodd, 32, faces three new counts and is due in court again December 13.
