A special nod was given to the 2016 Memorial Cup Organizing Committee with the Mayor’s Special Award – the highest recognition given by The City of Red Deer.

Thirty-four members of the 2016 Memorial Cup Organizing Committee received the award for their outstanding leadership, volunteerism and contribution to the community for their work in organizing the Memorial Cup hockey tournament in Red Deer.
