Baseball

The Mosquito AA Dick’s Auto Braves were to play two games in Rimbey this Saturday but Mother Nature did not cooperate and both were cancelled. The Braves were able to make up one game against the Foothills Okotoks Outlaws on Sunday afternoon in Rimbey, winning 12-6. Luke Schmitt hit an inside the park home run in the third inning. The Braves travel to Camrose for a make-up game on Tuesday. 

The Mosquito AA2 Red Deer Lock n’ Safe Braves travelled to Oyen Centennial Park for three games June 10 and 11:
Foothills Outlaws Blue 12, Red Deer Lock n’ Safe Braves 11
Red Deer Lock n’ Safe Braves 4, Oyen Orioles 3
Red Deer Lock n’ Safe Braves 13, Stettler Sliders 10

High School Soccer

Central Alberta Christian High School (CACHS) won Saturday’s central Alberta high school boys soccer final over Notre Dame, 2-0. Both goals were scored in the first half by Trevor Luymes. Nicholas VanDoesberg was named Tournament MVP. This is the second straight year that CACHS has won the league title.

On the girls’ side… Notre Dame beat Lindsay Thurber 2-1 to claim the title and cap off a perfect season. Emily Downey scored the golden goal in extra time.

Sunday – Beaumont Outlaw 7, Blackfalds Silverbacks 4
The Silverbacks fall to 2-6 on the season

Jr. B Tier 1
The Red Deer Rampage were off this weekend. They return to action Saturday, June 17 when they visit the Sherwood Park Titans. The Rampage are currently in first place in the north division with a record of 8-2.
