Town of Ponoka to transition to winter schedule for green cart pickup

The Town of Ponoka announced that biweekly green cart pickup will begin in November.

Beginning in the first week of the month, the town will transition to its winter schedule for curbside pickup for green carts.

This means green cart pickup will happen every second week until the end of April 2027.

Items that can go into the green bins include most kitchen food waste, coffee grounds, cooking oil, eggshells, poultry bones, shellfish, tea bags, certified compostable food containers, food-soiled newsprint and cardboard, facial tissue, food-soiled paper towels and napkins, and leaves.
