Lingering in the Lord

Sep 18, 2026 | 6:00 AM

There is nothing like being in the presence of the Holy Spirit.

There is absolutely no experience like when you are in a place, when you are with people in which you never want to leave, when you want to linger forever!

Every breath, every moment in that time is filled with joy inexpressible.

Those around you are like an elixir to your soul, an anchor to your peace and fellow travelers along a roadmap leading to a deep-seated sense of redemption and salvation.

All we can think, all we can utter is praise to our God… “‘Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty,’[a] who was, and is, and is to come.” (Rev 4:8a)

And we join every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is them, saying:

“To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!” (Rev 5:13)

In the midst of the congregation, He is there. In the midst of the ‘cloud’ of witnesses, He is there.

When He is there, it just IS.

All that is Holy, all that is sacred, all that is joyous, all that is peaceful, all that is loving, all that is eternal, all that is grace and forgiveness IS.

It is so tangible you can feel and you can touch it, when you do your senses reel.

Words cannot describe that moment until you have been engulfed with the grace of God, when the power of the Holy Spirt flows through and around you and transforms your life and those around you mightily.

We want to raise our hands in worship:

“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty.”

We want to raise our voice to our Saviour:

“Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord,” (Psalm 118:26)

We want to praise Him, “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord.” (Psalm 150:6)

We want to love him, with all our hearts, soul and mind.

In our surrender our spiritual body soars in triumphant, glorious, eternal, life giving and renewing flight.

“For you are the Lord our God, and we give you thanks, glory, honor and praise!”

In our surrender, we are changed. In the twinkling of an eye, we are changed.

WE LIVE because HE LIVES!

In that place, there are no words.

We feel that blessed assurance deep in our soul that He is with us, and we are in his will.

There is no better place to be.

So we linger in our Holy place, with the one who set us free, as long as we can safe and secure forever.

Peace be still, my soul.

Peace.

Amen and amen.
