Molly Simpson to compete in Canadian BMX Championships this weekend

Olympian Molly Simpson, who is from Red Deer, will compete this weekend in her home province.
The 2026 Canadian BMX Championships are taking place in St. Albert, Aug. 29-30.
Organized by the St. Alberta BMX Association, the event is anticipated to welcome more than 860 participants and 5,000 spectators.
That includes Simpson, who placed 5th at the 2024 Paris Olympics, and last December became the first Canadian woman to win the USA BMX Pro Series in 20 years. If she wins, it’d be her 10th national title, and she says she’s excited to compete.
