Adam Macko traded by Blue Jays to Texas on MLB’s Trade Deadline Day

Vauxhall’s Adam Macko is on the move, once again, and it came on Major League Baseball’s Trade Deadline Day.

The 25-year-old Toronto Blue Jays pitcher is now a Texas Ranger after being dealt by the club Monday for infielder Josh Smith and minor league pitcher Josh Stefan.

Macko, who made his major league debut May 18th against the New York Yankees was most recently with the Jays’ AAA-affiliate Buffalo Bisons.

He had originally been sent down earlier in the year, in June, when starter Dylan Cease returned to the line-up from Injured Reserved, and was called up a few weeks later when a spot on the pitching rotation opened up.

However, the left-hander had been struggling with a rising earned run average and was seeing limited action after a stellar start in May, which included his first win in the MLB.

Macko was drafted by the Seattle Mariners before being traded to Toronto.

The Rangers, meantime, are currently in second-place in the American League West Division with a record of 55-57, two-and-a-half games back of Houston.
