Today, it is not hard to see the effects of people looking within.
When people are looking at themselves, they will start to think that they are the center of the universe. Social media sites such as Instagram are the driving force and draw for many. The attraction and dopamine release are keeping them trapped in the cycle of striving for more followers, more clicks, more praise. We often possess a desire to be praised for what you are doing and for how you are living.
As it is said in John 12:43, “ for they loved the glory that comes from the man more than the glory that comes from God.”
People desire praise and glory for what they do or post. One of my coworkers was telling me that he was getting more praise for how he was getting stronger at the gym. He was giving advice, and people were loving it, and he was basking in pride. That doesn’t sit right with me. I have been there, desiring the attention. So I knew where his heart was, where his mind was at.
