Leger poll finds overall support outweighs opposition to proposed Meta AI data centre in Sturgeon County

An online poll suggests support for a 13-billion-dollar Meta artificial intelligence data centre in Alberta differs significantly depending on gender and political tilt.

The proposed project, set for Sturgeon County near Edmonton, would be the tech giant’s first A-I data centre in Canada and its largest outside the U-S.

An online Leger survey suggests 59 per cent of men support the project compared to just 30 per cent of women.

United Conservative Party voters overwhelmingly back the project, while fewer than half of N-D-P voters support it.
