Trial date set for Maskwacis man charged in Wetaskiwin stabbing
A trial date has been set for a man charged in an alleged stabbing incident in Wetaskiwin nearly two years ago.
Nicholas Morin, 29, of Maskwacis, is scheduled for trial in Wetaskiwin Court of Justice on Oct. 19, 2026.
It was on Oct. 28, 2024, around midnight, when Wetaskiwin police responded to a 911 call stating a male had been stabbed at a residence.
Officers immediately called for a high-priority Emergency Medical Services (EMS) response after arriving; before EMS arrived, but the victim lost consciousness and stopped breathing while officers applied pressure to the wound.
