Red Deer Highland Games and CentreFest return this weekend

Details for both of these annual traditions are below.

First off, the Highland Games run 8:30-5. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for youth and seniors, and children under five get in free. Here’s the schedule as of June 23:

Then there’s the 23rd annual CentreFest, which is happening earlier in the summer due to other big events happening later in the season.

At CentreFest, experience jaw-dropping acrobatics, laugh-out-loud comedy, live music, fire performances, and interactive entertainment as talented artists from across Canada and around the world transform the streets into an open-air stage, organizers say.

CentreFest was to be centred around Ross Street and Little Gaetz Avenue, but anticipated rain has moved the event indoors to Westerner Park. That is, except for Friday’s preview night, which is still slated for downtown, weather permitting.

Here’s the schedule breakdown:

Friday, June 26: CentreFest Preview Show – Veterans Park, Downtown Red Deer 7:00 p.m.
Saturday, June 27: CentreFest Festival Hours: 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. — Westerner Park
Sunday, June 28: CentreFest Festival Hours: 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. — Westerner Park
