‘One Swing for Three Causes’ raises close to $40,000

The second annual ‘One Swing for Three Causes’ golf tournament raised upwards of $40,000 on Monday at Red Deer’s River Bend Golf Course.

Supporting Bridges Community Living, Youth HQ, and the Red Deer Food Bank, the Central Alberta Breakfast Club-organized event attracted 24 teams and 96 golfers, despite it being a rather soggy day.

Co-organizer Brent Labrosse, who is with Bridges and the Breakfast Club, said it was heartwarming to see so many folks come out to support causes that help youth, seniors, and the entire public in times of need.

“This tournament doesn’t give prizes to the winners, it’s strictly to come out and support these three causes, and it was fantastic. We have fun with the par threes, we have fun with the $10,000 hole-in-one contest, we had fun with Garett Scott’s par three challenge, and the closest to the pin contests,” he said.
