One dead, one hurt after shooting in northern Saskatchewan

PELICAN NARROWS — RCMP say one person is dead and another is seriously injured after a shooting near the health clinic in the northeast Saskatchewan community of Pelican Narrows.

An active shooter alert was issued earlier in the day for an area around the community, with residents asked to find a safe location and lock their doors.

Police said Monday evening that events were still unfolding and their investigation was in the preliminary stages.

They didn’t provide details about the two victims but said no other injuries have been reported.
