Applications now open for Red Deer Games Foundation grant program

The Red Deer Games Foundation reports that applications are now open for local athletes looking for financial assistance.

The application deadline is Wednesday, June 3, and the grant is intended for individuals living in Red Deer and area who demonstrate a high level of ability and strong dedication to their sport.

The applications can be completed and submitted online on centralsport.ca.

The Red Deer Games Foundation has two grant application periods in June and December, and although the application form is always online, all applications are removed after the deadline.

In order to be considered for the upcoming grant period, applicants must reapply.

“The Red Deer Games Foundation Grant Program has now contributed over $250,000 to deserving athletes since the program began in 1976,” as stated in a media release. “The grants may be used by elite athletes to help offset the costs of training and equipment as they continue to pursue their training and competition programs. The athletes represent a variety of sports recognized by Provincial Sport Associations within the Province of Alberta.”
