The Lacombe Police Service made an arrest on an outstanding warrant and also recovered a stolen vehicle last Sunday.

Police say on April 5 at approximately 2:26 a.m., an officer on patrol observed a suspicious person standing at the door of a residence in the 4700 block of 47 Avenue.

The police then approached and identified the person and found they were wanted on an outstanding warrant.

As a result, they were arrested without incident.

Lacombe Police also observed a gold Chevrolet Silverado parked at the residence. They checked the license plate, which confirmed the vehicle had been stolen from the Blackfalds area that same day.

Officers located several items inside the vehicle, including a handheld conducted-energy weapon and a replica handgun.

The vehicle was then towed for further processing and the registered owner has been notified. The investigation into the stolen vehicle remains ongoing.

The person who was arrested was later released after they were processed by police.

Anyone with information related to this incident or other criminal activity in the area is asked to contact the Lacombe Police Service at 403-782-3279 or their local police agency. To remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or submit a tip online at www.tipsubmit.com.
