The Lacombe Police Service is investigating a hit-and-run involving a pedestrian that occurred on Jan. 7, 2026.

LPS says it happened at approximately 6:55 p.m. at the intersection of 48 Street and 52 Avenue. Police say they responded to a report of a pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle while crossing the intersection.

According to police, the vehicle involved, described as an older-model, gold-colored Chevrolet SUV, failed to remain at the scene and left prior to police arrival. The pedestrian was later transported to hospital by EMS and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

LPS says extensive patrols were conducted in the area; however, police were unable to locate a vehicle matching the description. The investigation remains ongoing.
