Friends of Medicare to hold town hall in Ponoka this Sunday

Friends of Medicare and Dr. Paul Parks will hold a health care town hall this weekend in Ponoka.

The event will take place on Sunday at the Hudson’s Green Nature and Activity Centre and will feature Friends of Medicare Executive Director Chris Gallaway and Dr. Parks, who is an emergency physician in Medicine Hat. Parks is also the past president of the Alberta Medical Association.

Doors open at 1:30 p.m. and the town hall will begin at 2 p.m.

The event, which is free and open to the public, is a part of Friends of Medicare’s Urgent Conversations on Public Health Care tour.

The event will give local residents the opportunity to express concerns about the health care system in Alberta and discuss solutions.

So far in the province-wide tour, they have made stops in Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, and Fort McMurray, and Red Deer.

The event is free and open to the public, but RSVP is requested.
