Red Deer RCMP are investigating an incident that occurred outside the G.H. Dawe Recreation Centre on Sunday, Nov. 16.

Police confirm that at about 8:07 p.m., they received a report about a fight in progress.

Upon arrival, one male had to be taken to hospital with a cut on his hand. There he was treated and released.

“Information obtained thus far suggests that the male went to the area to confront some teens who were alleged to have bullied his daughter,” police said Monday.

“The confrontation turned physical. RCMP continue to investigate and are obtaining video surveillance of the encounter. Most of the involved parties have been identified.”

RCMP further clarified that the incident took place outside, between the Dawe Centre and G.H. Dawe Elementary.
