Seattle Thunderbirds forward and Red Deer native Brock England has made a name for himself amidst his rookie season in the Western Hockey League (WHL).

The 16-year-old was named WHL Rookie of the Week for his outstanding play through two games last week. He recorded two goals and four assists to help the Thunderbirds improve their record.

On Tuesday, Nov. 11, he helped propel Seattle to a 4-1 victory over the Wenatchee Wild after tallying a goal and two assists for three points. He was named the first star of the game for his performance.

Meanwhile, on Friday, Nov. 14, he posted another three-point night with a goal and two assists in a 5-4 overtime loss to the Prince Albert Raiders.

These pair of elite performances were career highs for the youngster who was selected by the Thunderbirds 11th overall in the 2024 WHL Prospects Draft.

Through 14 games this year, the rookie has eight goals and nine assists for 17 points.

The Thunderbirds currently hold an 8-8-2-0 record, which is good enough for ninth in the Western Conference.

Next up, the Thunderbirds host the Victoria Royals (9-8-2-1) on Friday, November 21.
