Red Deer Curling Classic begins today

The Red Deer Curling Classic officially begins today at the Pidherney Centre.

In total, 20 men’s teams and 16 women’s teams will compete in a triple knockout format from November 14-17.

Today, draws begin at 9:30 a.m., 2 p.m., and 6:30 p.m., followed by the same times on Saturday and Sunday. On Monday, draws are set for 8:30 a.m., noon, and 3 p.m.

For those hoping to attend, a full-day pass will cost $15 per person, and an event pass costs $45. In addition, a day pass costs $5 after 6 p.m. Organizers say they’ll only accept cash for admission.

The concession and lounge will be open all weekend, and there will be a live performance from Amber Williams from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. on Saturday.
