Soroptimist International of Central Alberta accepting applications for its community awards

Soroptimist International of Central Alberta says applications are now open for its Live Your Dream Awards, Violet Richardson Award, and the Ruby Award.

The deadline to apply for all of the awards is set for Dec. 31, 2025.

Here is a summary of each award:

The Live Your Dream Awards are presented to a woman who is financially responsible for herself and her dependents, is attending an undergraduate degree program or skills/training program and is financially in need. The cash awards will offset any educational costs, and applications are available from Melody Klinck at melody@inspiringvirtues.ca.

The Violet Richardson Award is a recognition program for women ages 14-17 engaged in volunteer action within their communities or schools. Projects that benefit women and girls are especially valued. The club will present $500 to the winner and $500 to the charity of her choice. Applications are available from Robyn Devine at soroptimist_robyn@icloud.com

The Ruby Award honours women who are making extraordinary differences in the lives of other women. Some women work to improve conditions for women and girls through their personal or volunteer efforts, and others do so through professional avenues. This recipient will be a woman who has inspired and encouraged other women and has worked to improve the lives of women and girls. Soroptimist International of Central Alberta is part of a global member organization that provides women and girls with the education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment.
