Red Deer’s average rent prices in November among the cheapest in Canada

The City of Red Deer remains one of the most affordable markets to rent in when it comes to apartments and condo units.

According to the November 2025 national rent report from Rentals.ca and Urbanation, the community is the fifth-cheapest city for average rent prices for an apartment or condo among Canadian markets.

Red Deer is 56th among 60 communities listed, with an average rent price of $1,395 per month for apartments and condos. A one-bedroom unit will have an average cost of $1,280 per month, which is a 3.6 per cent decrease month over month. Meanwhile, for a two-bedroom unit, the average Red Deerian will have to pay $1,451 per month, a 2.6 per cent decrease.

The only markets that were cheaper than Red Deer were Fort McMurray ($1,332), Medicine Hat ($1,321), Lloydminster ($1,244), and St. John’s ($1,067). Meantime, the top two most expensive markets to rent in were North Vancouver ($3,011) and Vancouver ($2,728).
