City of Red Deer to hold swearing-in ceremony on Monday

The City of Red Deer will hold its swearing-in ceremony on Monday to welcome its newly elected mayor and councillors.

On November 3, the ceremony will begin at 10:30 a.m. in the council chambers at Red Deer City Hall, with an organizational meeting to follow at 1 p.m.

For those hoping to attend in person, there will be a public viewing area on the main floor in the Wapiti Room, and seating in the council chambers will be limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

However, the public can also view the ceremony live by visiting the City of Red Deer’s website at reddeer.ca/swearingin.

The swearing-in ceremony marks the official start of a new mayor and council’s term, as they take their oaths of office.
