Arrest Made Following E-Bike Theft

The Lacombe Police Service has charged a Lacombe resident in connection with the theft of an e-bike from Burman University earlier this month.

On Oct. 16, police received a report of a stolen e-bike valued at approximately $1,750. Through investigation, members identified a suspect.

Officers subsequently located the suspect and the stolen e-bike at his residence. The man was arrested without incident and charged with Theft Under $5,000. The e-bike was recovered and returned to its rightful owner.

The Lacombe Police Service reminds community members to record serial numbers and secure bicycles with high-quality locks to help deter theft and assist in recovery should a theft occur.

Police Investigating Theft of Propane Tanks from Locked Compound

LPS is investigating a theft that occurred in the early morning hours of Oct. 22, 2025.

An unknown suspect gained access to a locked compound at Home Hardware in Lacombe, and stole four propane bottles, each valued at approximately $75. The suspect left the scene riding a bicycle prior to police arrival.

Stolen Vehicle Recovered and Suspect Arrested

The Lacombe Police Service received a report of a stolen vehicle from a residence on College Avenue on Oct. 24. The complainant reported that their 2005 silver Ford F-350 had been stolen sometime overnight.

Investigators determined that the vehicle had been taken during the late evening hours of Oct. 23, and video surveillance obtained from the area confirmed the theft, though the suspect could not be clearly identified.

On Oct. 27, 2025, the Red Deer RCMP located the stolen vehicle and arrested the driver, a 39-year-old Red Deer resident.

The man has been charged for Possession of Property Obtained by Crime. Following a Judicial Interim Release hearing, he was remanded into custody and will appear in Red Deer Provincial Court on Oct. 30.

Arrested Following Grocery Store Theft

The Lacombe Police Service has charged a 42-year-old Lacombe man following a theft that occurred at Lionel’s No Frills on Oct. 25.

At approximately 12:45 p.m., police were dispatched to a report of a male who had exited the store with several grocery items without paying.

The male was recognized by an off-duty Lacombe Police Service member.

Officers located the man a short distance away in possession of the stolen groceries. He was arrested without incident and transported to the Lacombe Police Service. The stolen items, valued at $171.84, were returned to the store.

Further investigation revealed the man was wanted on multiple outstanding warrants and had been released numerous times earlier this year for theft- and weapons-related offences. He was held in custody for a Judicial Interim Release hearing.

Police Investigating Vandalism at Local Business

LPS is investigating an incident of mischief that occurred during the early morning hours of Oct, 25.

At approximately 1:29 a.m., police received a report from Home Hardware after a front window was found smashed. A metal hitch had been thrown through the glass. It does not appear that entry was made into the store, and no items were reported stolen.

Damage to the window is estimated at $1,500.

Police are continuing to investigate and are seeking any available video footage that may have captured the event or suspect(s). Police Investigating Stolen Truck from Lacombe Residence

The Lacombe Police Service is investigating the theft of a vehicle that occurred overnight in the 5400 block of 55 Avenue in Lacombe. On the morning of Oct. 28, police received a report from a resident after discovering their truck had been stolen from in front of their residence sometime during the night.

The vehicle contained various tools in the truck bed at the time of the theft.

The vehicle is described as a 1998 Dodge Ram 1500, white in color, bearing Alberta license plate CVL 3996.
