Winter clothing distribution from the Coats 4 Kids campaign begins Monday

The Red Deer Christmas Bureau Society’s 64th annual Coats 4 Kids campaign officially ends on Friday, which means distribution of the winter clothing starts next week.

The initiative ran from September 29 to October 17, where they asked the community to donate new or gently used coats and other winter items for kids and adults in need.

The other winter items donated included mitts, gloves, toques, scarves, and ski pants.

As a result of the generosity from the community, they’ll begin distributing these items from Oct. 20-25 and again from Oct. 27-30 at the Red Deer Christmas Bureau Society located at 4630 – 61 Street in Red Deer.

One winter coat will be given per client, and it is on a first-come, first-served basis. This includes all winter items, and no appointment is needed.

Those interested in acquiring a coat will need to provide proof of address and an Alberta health card for all family members.
