Oct 9, 2025 | 11:03 AM

Homelessness will be the focus of discussions during a mayoral candidates municipal election forum in Red Deer Thursday night.

The event runs from 6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. at the Red Deer Polytechnic Arts Centre and is hosted by the Homeless Foundation for Red Deer Region, Red Deer Polytechnic, BILD Central Alberta, and the Central Alberta Child Advocacy Centre.

Organizers say this in-person event will provide a platform for mayoral candidates to share their perspectives and proposed solutions on this critical issue. It’s hoped the forum will help those who attend make an informed decision on election day, Monday, Oct. 20, 2025.

Meanwhile, a municipal election forum will be held in Red Deer County Thursday evening from 7:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. at the Valley Centre Hall. It will be a chance to hear from mayoral candidates and those in Division 1 and 2.

A municipal election candidates forum will also be held in Sylvan Lake Thursday night.

It begins at 6:00 p.m. in the NexSource Centre.

The event will be live streamed on the town’s YouTube channel and available for viewing following the event.

In the Town of Stettler, a candidates forum is being held Thursday, Oct. 9, at the HUB (Upstairs in the Stettler Recreation Centre) at 7pm. It’s being hosted by the Stettler Public Library and Stettler Regional Board of Trade.
