Red Deer RCMP still seeking suspect in downtown armed bank robbery

Red Deer RCMP are still looking for the suspect involved in an armed bank robbery on Thursday.

RCMP responded around 12:36 to a bank robbery at the downtown Red Deer ScotiaBank branch (4421 50 Avenue).

A male suspect is said to have entered the bank with a handgun, and demanded money. He ultimately left with some, though the amount remains undisclosed.

Thankfully, nobody was injured.

RCMP say the Red Deer detachment GIS unit is investigating, and seeking tips from the public. They are also no longer on scene.

RCMP are currently searching for a suspect armed with a firearm who is described as:

  • Male
  • Wearing blue jeans, white runners, sunglasses, blue medical mask, grey ball cap,
  • Last seen riding a silver bicycle.

If you see this suspect, DO NOT APPROACH, but do call 911.
