PSA: Tenting dos and don’ts in Sylvan Lake

Town of Sylvan Lake PSA — A reminder to beach visitors that our waterfront has an area where tents are not permitted:

• No tent zone: North of the asphalt walking trail along the beach from west of the Pier to the east area of Centennial Park
• Small tents allowed: Small tents no larger than 1 meter by 1 meter, such as baby shade shelters, are permitted in the restricted area
• All tents ok zone: There are no tent restrictions south of the path. Anyone wishing to use a tent can do so there, and into Centennial Park

“We take pride in being a community renowned for family gatherings or a place where you can enjoy quality time with friends, and that remains unchanged. Based on feedback from our residents, we’re adjusting the locations for large tents to ensure everyone enjoys our lakefront to the fullest,” says Mayor Megan Hanson.

“Centennial Park and the area south of the pathway offer spacious open areas perfect for gathering, while the sandy beach north of the pathway will now provide a tent-free view for everyone to enjoy.”
