Leslieville Antique Days returns August Long

Leslieville Antique Days, a longtime West Country favorite is back again this year on August long weekend.

Held annually for decades at the Leslieville Antique Club grounds located east of the community, the event features camping, historic building tours, vendors, threshing demonstrations, the popular tractor pull, and of course, the storied homemade cinnamon buns.

Other returning events include a parade Saturday and Sunday morning, a pancake breakfast, and a Sunday morning worship service with music and message being provided by local churches.

Kids can also take a ride on the recently restored “Royal Scott” miniature steam train. The track got a major upgrade in spring 2025 as a group of volunteers spent their May long weekend replacing about 500 railway ties.

Penny Seiling, longtime Central Alberta Antique and Model Club member says the tractor pull competition continues to be a big draw— with an emphasis on very old machines.

“There are tractor pulls where if you’re tractor is newer than the mid-60s, you can’t participate with it,” she says.

Among the historic sites on the grounds includes the original Leslieville general store, actual lived-in farmhouses, Withrow church, sawmill, and schoolhouse, which Seiling adds is set up as it would be during pioneer days, complete with chalk alphabet.

Throughout the weekend, Seiling says families can enjoy a petting zoo, live music and threshing displays on the antique farm equipment.

Admission to the event is $10 person and those 12 and under are free.

Camping is available for an additional $10 per night, something Seiling says is very popular, as many make it an annual, ‘escape from the city’ type trip.

The event goes Aug. 2-3 at the grounds east of Leslieville. Parking is free near the grounds with wagon rides going to and from the grounds.
