Downgraded: No fire restrictions in Lacombe County as of May 16

May 8, 2025 | 2:28 PM

The fire advisory has been downgraded again to zero restrictions, as of May 16.

This fire ban has been downgraded to a Fire Advisory, as of May 13.

Residents are urged to continue to exercise extreme caution and prioritize fire prevention at all times.

Lacombe County will now issue fire permits for minor burns but will not approve any permits for large area burn activity until conditions further improve.

A Fire Ban has been issued for Lacombe County.

This is an upgrade from the prior Fire Restriction.

“Lacombe County conditions are dry, and the high wind speeds this week has posed a real risk to properties, natural areas, and community safety,” said Manager of Fire & Emergency Services, Dave Bain.

Effective immediately, Lacombe County will issue no new fire permits or fireworks permits, and existing permits have already been canceled.

• No burning barrels are permitted under this ban.

• Gas/propane stoves, barbeques, and portable propane fire pits are permitted but must be always attended to.

• Any outdoor fires, including campfires, presently burning within Lacombe County must be extinguished immediately.

• The ignition of all outdoor fires within the boundaries of Lacombe County are hereby prohibited.

This ban DOES NOT apply to:

• Fires which are contained within cooking and heating appliances, and which are fueled by fluids, gases, charcoal briquettes, or wood pellets.

• Propane-fueled fire pits.
