Sylvan Lake conducting annual hydrant flushing

The Town of Sylvan Lake is performing its yearly maintenance on its water distribution system, which includes flushing fire hydrants.

Fire hydrant flushing will occur until Sept. 15 and as a result, residents should expect:

• Temporary drop in water pressure
• Slight discolouration of your water caused by mineral deposits

Residents’ water will still be safe to drink, even if discoloured. To clear the discolouration, the town suggests running a cold water tap for a few minutes before use.
