Lakers invited to provide input into new Community Social Master Plan

The Town of Sylvan Lake is seeking resident input on the Community Social Master Plan, a document guiding Sylvan Lake’s journey to a safe and caring community.

The 2016 iteration of the plan defined what quality of life means to Lakers and how to move toward a reality where all residents can enjoy a healthy quality of life, and it’s time for an update.

By updating the plan, town officials hope to improve community well-being; help meet the needs and wants of the community for events and programming; produce short, medium and long term strategies to guide Sylvan Lake for another five years; and open the door to apply to more federal and provincial grants.

Residents are invited to attend various focus groups to share their concerns and ideas around improving community well-being and addressing social issues. Snacks and an honorarium will be provided to participants.

• May 15, 2025 (1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.): Health and wellness
• May 26, 2025 (1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.): Transportation
