Lacombe’s Daxon Rudolph named WHL Rookie of the Week
Prince Albert Raiders defenceman Daxon Rudolph has been named the Western Hockey League’s (WHL) Rookie of the Week.
This marks the second time the 17-year-old from Lacombe has earned WHL Rookie of the Week honours. Rudolph also won WHL Rookie of the Month last January.
Rudolph had a fantastic stretch last week leading all skaters in points with one goal and four assists in three games. He also led with a plus-four rating.
It all started with a big performance in a Game 7 victory over the Edmonton Oil Kings last Tuesday to advance to the second round. He contributed three assists in the 5-0 win on home ice.
