Discriminatory Slurs

Sundre RCMP investigating damage to NDP election signs

Apr 12, 2025 | 3:53 PM

The Sundre RCMP is turning to the public for help in finding those responsible to damaging election signs in and around the community.

Police say between April 9 and 11 they’ve received reports of mischief to federal elections signs of NDP candidates. This includes spray painting discriminatory slurs.

Damaging or stealing a candidate election sign is a criminal offence and in addition, hate motivated crimes could result in higher penalties during sentencing.
