Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Red Deer and District (BBBS) has been awarded over $600,000 in a grant from the provincial government.

On Wednesday, Youth HQ announced BBBS of Red Deer received $608,307 through the Alberta government’s Community Facility Enhancement Program to upgrade the facility at the Centre for Social Impact.

“We are grateful for the support from CFEP, which enables us to address facility enhancements and upgrades in support of the charities and non-profits that share this place where community connects,” said Rob Lewis, Executive Director, YouthHQ.

The Centre for Social Impact is a place where families can access supports and services. Not only that but it’s also where charities can collaborate, and a place where organizations can share resources.

“I am extremely honoured to support the work of non-profit organizations that aim to foster healthy, vibrant communities across Alberta. Alberta’s government is proud to support organizations that improve the quality of life in our communities,” said Tanya Fir, Minister of Arts, Culture and Status of Women.

BBBS of Red Deer and District has provided local youth with adult role models since 1976.
