Sylvan Lake receives additional Housing Accelerator Fund grant

The Town of Sylvan Lake has been awarded a $540,000 grant from the Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) to support new home developments.
On March 18, town council approved a resolution directing the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) to finalize negotiations on the funding.
The grant became available due to the town’s performance following the first round of Housing Accelerator Funding that launched in 2023, as well as its committment to permitting more housing units through its Housing Accelerator Action Plan.
An update to that plan will be brought forward to council in April, and will include a detailed report on the town’s first year of progress.
