Central Alberta Pregnancy Care Centre prepares for annual Easter musical next month

Mar 6, 2025 | 12:16 PM

The Central Alberta Pregnancy Care Centre is preparing to host its Annual Easter Musical Production.

The not-for-profit organization will present Forgiven: An Easter Story with four opportunities to attend the show on Thursday, April 3 at 7 p.m., Friday, April 4 at 7 p.m., Saturday, April 5 at 2:30 p.m., and Saturday, April 5 at 7 p.m., at Deer Park Alliance Church.

Although it’s a ticketed event, the show is free to attend and is a family-friendly show. Doors will open 30 minutes before each show and is rush seating.

Forgiven: An Easter Story is a tale that begins before Jesus was born and follows the lives of three women, Mary, Rachel, and Priscilla. The once childhood friends had been taken on very different life trajectories but Jesus impacts them all.

Tickets are free due to sponsorship, with the proceeds from the show given to the Aerie, a two-phased maternity home program in Red Deer.

The program gives up to eleven women at any time the opportunity to build trusting relationships, learn new skills, and increase their ability to cope in a hands-on approach. Participants in the program are taught life skills and are empowered.

They also learn new parenting skills, focusing on attachment, and holistic support is offered to meet varying needs. The program is staffed 24/7 and residents who are eligible begin in phase one of the program during their pregnancy and move into phase two when their infant is approximately six months old. Phase two residents who continue to meet program outcomes are invited to stay until their child is approximately four-years-old.

The funds raised allow the Centre to continue ot provide support before, during, and after pregnancy.
