“We hope to attract a range of buyers to the area, with detached-home lots starting at $102,000,” says Meghan Jenkins, the town’s director of community services.

“Although pricing hasn’t been finalized, the numbers provided on February 18 should give us a good idea of where we will ultimately be.”

Final lot prices will be presented to council March 10.

The town adds it is confident that lots can be construction-ready by fall 2025, after infrastructure servicing is complete. For that, there is $4.5 million approved in the municipality’s 2025 capital budget.

Pending council approval, lots will initially be made available through a lot draw process targeted for April, and this will require interested individuals to register before the event.

“The timing of this project in 2025 is important to maintain development momentum and interest in the community,” Jenkins’ administrative report to council reads. “Other larger developers looking at Innisfail’s potential need to have data that the community can sustain a robust level of lot absorption to justify investment.”

Tax revenue is projected to give the town $200,000 annually once all is said and done.
