École Central Middle School students safe following brief hold and secure Wednesday
École Central Middle School went into hold and secure early on Wednesday afternoon following an incident that took place outside the Red Deer school.
In a letter to parents from Vice Principal Jeff Archer, he said the incident took place at 1:15 p.m. and involved an, “unfamiliar individual.”
He said the school was not involved in the incident and the hold and secure was called as a precaution. During the incident, all students and staff were safe and classes went on as normal.
The RCMP were also called, and Cst. Cory Riggs told rdnewsNOW the incident was an individual having a mental health episode.
