Day two wraps up at the ACAC Curling Championships in Red Deer

The Pidherney Centre was buzzing with excitement on the second day of competition at the 2025 Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) Curling Championships hosted by Red Deer Polytechnic (RDP). With eyes on the playoffs, the level of intensity and calibre of play on the ice were elevated on Saturday.

After a total of 36 games were played by 12 teams, the stage has been set for the playoffs.

Here is a summary of the results from February 8:

Men’s Division

10:00 a.m.

After the 2 p.m. games, the teams in each division were ranked from first to fourth based on their record at the ACAC Curling Championships. Then the winner of the game between the first place and second place teams at 6:30 p.m. advanced directly to the gold medal game on Sunday. The RDP Men’s team, RDP Women’s team, and RDP Mixed Curling team have solidified spots in the championship games.

The semi-final draws kick off Sunday, Feb. 9, at 9 a.m. The winner from each match will move on to play in the gold medal final, with the loser proceeding to the bronze medal final, both at 1 p.m.

There is no cost to attend the ACAC Curling Championships at the Pidherney Centre in Red Deer.
