The cause of a fire that destroyed a family home in Waskasoo in January may never be known, according to Red Deer’s investigation unit.
Zhihao Zhong, Fire Safety Codes Officer, City of Red Deer, said his investigation into the cause of the fire was inconclusive due to what remained of the structure afterwards.
With the limited information available, Zhong said the nature of the fire did not arouse suspicion.
It was the afternoon of Jan. 19, when an attic fire started in a family home in the Waskasoo neighbourhood, ultimately destroying the home and leaving it in rubble.
