Stettler hosting curling’s 2025 Alberta Cup

The community is invited to join Curling Alberta and the Erskine Curling Club in Stettler for the 2025 Alberta Cup competition, a chance to secure a provincial title and play as Team Alberta in the 2025 Brier.

From Feb. 4-9, Alberta’s top 12 men’s competitive teams will compete at the Stettler Recreation Centre, and games will be livestreamed on Curling Alberta’s YouTube channel.

Tickets are available online.

The final qualifying round for the competition took place at the Cochrane Curling Club at the beginning of January.

The following teams have qualified:

  • Team Kiist (Rhett Whittmire, Noah Mason-Wood, Terren Algot, Benjamin Kiist, Coach Tim Krassman)
  • Team Adams (Tyson Toews, Jeremy Harty, Derek Bowyer, Cole Adams)
  • Team Humbke (Colton Brand, Garrett Johnston, Daniel Bubola, Daniel Humbke, Coach Wade Johnston)
  • Team Vavrek (Evan Asmussen, Carter Lautner, Tristan Steinke, Daylan Vavrek)
  • Team Van Amsterdam (Parker Konschuh, Sterling Middleton, Jason Ginter, Evan Van Amsterdam)
  • Team Libbus (Michael Henricks, Zachary Pawliuk, Nathan Molberg, Jacob Libbus, Coach Brad Thiessen)
  • Team King (Todd Brick, Sean Morris, Michael Jantzen, Jamie King)
  • Team Tao (Andrew Nowell, Benjamin Morin, Jaedon Neuert, Johnson Tao, Coach Rob Krepps)
  • Team Koe (Karrick Martin, Tyler Tardi, Aaron Sluchinski, Kevin Koe, Coach Mike Libbus)
  • Team Johnson (Mark Wood, Russ Jennings, Lyle Kent, Robert Johnson)
  • Team Jacques (Ethan Drysdale, Jordan Tardi, Ryan Parent, Ryan Jacques, Tyler Powell)
  • Team Davies (Lucas Sawiak, William Butler, Ronan Peterson, Zachary Davies)

The winner of the 2025 Alberta Cup will play as Team Alberta in the 2025 Brier, to be held in Kelowna, B.C., from Feb. 28-Mar. 9.
