Red Deer Emergency Services respond to multi-vehicle collision on QEII

Red Deer Emergency Services is attending a multi-vehicle collision including a jackknifed semi on the QEII just north of Highway 11A.
The City says southbound traffic is open but there is a disabled semi on the shoulder and northbound traffic is open but traffic is moving slowly.
Officials say the Highway is very icy and traffic is not recommended. RDES has left the scene but RCMP remain on site.
According to Alberta 511, a tow ban remains in effect on the QEII between Edmonton and Highway 616 on Wednesday morning. Reduced visibility and slippery sections have resulted in extremely hazardous road conditions. Avoid travel until conditions improve.
