90 KM/H WINDS EXPECTED

Wind warning issued for central Alberta

Jan 16, 2025 | 8:53 AM

Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) has issued a wind warning for central Alberta.

ECCC officials say strong northwest winds reaching 90 km/h are expected tonight, along with falling snow. This combination may cause poor visibility in some areas due to blowing snow.

Winds are expected to weaken by the morning of Friday, Jan. 17.

ECCC advises that loose objects may be tossed by the winds and cause injury or damage. Motorists may experience hazardous driving conditions on highways due to strong cross winds, and are asked to be prepared to adjust their driving to changing road conditions.
