RDPSD honoured with two BRAVO! Awards for excellence in communications

Red Deer Public Schools has been recognized nationally for excellence in communications.

On Thursday the division announced they’ve received two prestigious BRAVO! Awards from the Canadian Association of Communicators in Education (CACE).

The BRAVO! Awards are the country’s only national awards program exclusively for school board communications and the awards highlight achievements in public relations, marketing, communications, an engagement.

As a result, they received the Award of Distinction in the Communications Project category for the Division-wide Open House Series, an initiative that showcased Red Deer Public Schools to the community. This project was led by Erin Black and Larissa Spendiff.

Also, they were presented Coup de Coeur Award for the Division-wide Truth and Reconciliation Video. This was a powerful project that contributed to truth and reconciliation education within the community. This project was led by Erin Black, Hayley Christen, and Terry Lakey.

“We are incredibly proud of our communications team for their dedication and commitment to telling the Red Deer Public Schools story in ways that resonate with our community,” said Chad Erickson, Superintendent of Schools.

“These BRAVO! Awards highlight the importance of connecting with our community, creating opportunities for families to engage with our schools, as well as sharing our journey in Truth and Reconciliation. Congratulations to Erin, Larissa, Hayley and Terry, and all involved for their outstanding work in making a positive impact in education.”

In addition, Erin Black Erin Black received a Coup de Coeur Award for her role as an Alberta/NWT Regional Liaison for CACE.
