Sep 5, 2024 | 11:11 AM

Red Deer is welcoming two new family physicians.

Alberta Health Services says the additions of Dr. Adeola Adeyemo and Dr. Tolulope Shittu bring Red Deer’s family doctor count to at least 104, with 10 more currently being onboarded, according to AHS.

Both new physicians completed their medical education in Nigeria and bring roughly 15 years each of clinical experience to Canada.

The Branch Clinic now has five physicians serving Red Deer residents. Individuals needing a family doctor can call 403-986-8600 to arrange a meet-and-greet appointment.

“The warmth and friendliness of Red Deer’s residents have always inspired me, and I am thrilled to contribute to the health and well-being of this wonderful community,” says Dr. Adeyemo.

Adds Dr. Shittu: “I am passionate about delivering comprehensive and patient–centred care to individuals and families.”

AHS notes that it continues to recruit for physicians across the Central Zone to meet community needs.

According to the Red Deer Primary Care Network clinic directory, there are seven family doctors in Red Deer accepting new patients as of Sept. 5.
