126 Red Deer Sea Cadets to host open house Sept. 12

Sep 1, 2024 | 10:00 AM

The Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps (RCSCC) in Red Deer is hosting an open house on Sept. 12.

The event runs 6:30-9 p.m. at 4402 55 Street, and will provide interested persons the ability to engage with corps staff, volunteers, and cadets; to learn about the Sea Cadet Program; and to receive registration information.

The Cadet Program is open to all youth between the ages of 12-19 years.

Meantime, Captain Eryn Beddoes, Commanding Officer of 126 Red Deer, recently led a canoeing and outdoor leadership experience at Kasota East Camp in Sylvan Lake.

Plus, four cadets from Red Deer attended a Cadet Training Centre where they had the opportunity to develop self-confidence, self-discipline, and leadership skills through activities designed to challenge them.

The cadets participated in courses for Fitness and Sports, Sail 1, and Seamanship.
