Calgary mayor says water restrictions to last at least another week for repairs

Calgary Mayor Jyoti Gondek said Wednesday the city is to remain under water restrictions until at least the middle of next week.

That’s when crews should know how repairs to the broken main water pipeline are going.

Even though replacement pipe is now on the site, Gondek said installing, flushing and getting the distribution system ready will take at least a week.

She said residents continue to successfully reduce their water use.
