Central Alberta firefighters taking part in Wellspring Stairclimb Challenge for cancer support
Firefighters from around central Alberta are taking part in the 10th annual Wellspring Stairclimb Challenge, which raises funds and awareness for free cancer support.
The event takes place in Calgary at Brookfield Place (225 6 Ave. SW, Calgary) this Sunday, June 9. Participants will ascend 1,370 steps, or 57 storeys.
Wellspring is a registered charity which offers free programs for cancer patients and their families (not just firefighters), targeted at easing pain, fatigue and distress, while building strength, supporting financial and workplace challenges, and providing connection and belonging. These services are available throughout Alberta.
“Year after year, we’re impressed by the dedicated participants who train relentlessly and show up to support Wellspring Alberta,” says Natalie Noble, CEO of Wellspring Alberta, which is the event organizer.
