Business Link, a provincial support organization for entrepreneurs, is excited to announce the launch of its newest initiative, the Business Launch Program, aimed at fostering entrepreneurial success by offering essential guidance, resources, and fundamental business principles to prospective entrepreneurs.

Officials say this program is designed to provide personalized support and action-oriented education to help participants actively engage and maximize their learning potential.

The Business Launch Program is said to be tailored for individuals in the early stages of their business journey, as well as those with a business idea seeking guidance to move forward. Officials say the program is perfect for committed individuals ready to turn their idea into a sustainable small business..

Organizers say participants will embark on a transformative three to six-week journey, featuring three 45-minute video sessions held weekly or bi-weekly. Throughout the program, officials anticipate that participants they will gain a comprehensive understanding of the fundamental principles necessary to start a business, complete a valuable guidebook for further business development, and access additional entrepreneurship-related tools and resources. Each participant is also expected to establish a meaningful relationship with a dedicated Business Strategist for ongoing support and guidance.

“We understand that starting a business usually begins with a single idea, but determining if that idea can really take off requires the right support and resources,” said Matt Hill, Director of Client Services and Operations. “Our Business Launch Program offers free personalized support for entrepreneurs just starting out, enabling them to validate their business idea and equip themselves with the essential tools for success.”

By the end of the program, officials say participants will have a readiness to embark on their business journey. They are also expected to be able to define their business concept, conduct market research, learn about financing options, develop a financial plan, and create a comprehensive business model.

To apply for the Business Launch Program, prospective entrepreneurs must fill out the intake form on the Business Link website. A Business Strategist will then confirm enrollment and session dates, followed by a review of essential assignments and an introduction to their dedicated Business Strategist. To access the program, applicants must be in the early stages of developing a business plan and idea, based in Alberta, and able to commit to three weekly or bi-weekly 45-minute sessions.

The initial goal is to reach over 200 participants for the inaugural year. For more information about the Business Launch Program or to apply, please visit https://businesslink.ca/programs/business-launch-program/.
